Welcoming Finn, Newborn Photos at Home in Seattle

We were given a beautiful clear day in December for Finn's lifestyle newborn session in Seattle. The sunshine peeped into their Seattle bungalow in the Wallingford neighborhood and we spent our time talking about the transition from 1 to 2 kids and all things birth and babies. All topics I love to connect over.

Once we had  spent time getting to know each other, they invited their sweet bird Peregrine to join us for the second half of our session. It was amazing to watch him interact with his humans. Peregrine has been with this couple for 13+ years and I was in love with his participation in their session. At one point, he indicated that he needed to use the restroom and left a little present on the bed while we were all cuddled up.

When your home is our location, we can really lean into what is needed in the moment. Want a cup of coffee? Let's get one. Does your toddler need a snack, like 5 minutes ago? We can change direction and keep the flow going.

"The photos and memories from the shoot were beyond my expectations. Alec somehow takes ordinary moments in ordinary spaces and transforms them into magic. I was apprehensive about such a close-quartered shoot being the awkward penguin that I am in photos. She documented our most carefree selves as well as our natural family dynamic. Our time together should feel like a slow morning being present with your loves. We drink coffee and follow the lead of the kiddos. Their energy and comfort is our number one priority, and I think it shows when we lean into their needs and go with the flow.
