Family Travel Photographs at your AirBnb Rental in Washington State

This family asked me to meet them at their AirBnb Rental to take their family photos. The location was an easy 45 minute drive from Seattle, just east of Monroe on Highway 2. The rain in Seattle was brutal as I left, but the drive proved beautiful Pacific Northwest views. Their cabin rental was both adorable and beautiful, with big windows facing the Cascade Mountain range and wood stoves for cozy fires. When I arrived, dad was playing chess with their 9 year old while their toddler ran circles and their 5 month old napped. We made coffee and went upstairs to wake the baby.
The windows were my favorite feature, as they made it feel like we were in the trees surrounded by the most beautiful colors. Baby woke with soft coos and easy smiles, fascinated by my camera and forever looking straight at me.
With baby waking up in the main bedroom, we gathered the entire family in the bed and spent some time corralling the three year old. I think the coolest room was the living room with 3 walls of windows, it felt like you were in a tree house. The room is comfortably furnished and you can view the rest of the property and both the mountains and a small creek below.
Oh, and did I mention there is a steam sauna on a platform? Well there is. Beautiful cedar sauna that you can sweat and watch the Cascade Mountain range. The town of Sultan is just down Highway 2, and if you head East over the pass you hit two of my favorite destinations in Washington state. Lake Wenatchee State Park Beach and Leavenworth. Two fantastic locations for day trips or a long weekend away from Seattle. If you are into Snowboarding, Skiing, or hanging out next to those that Ski/Snowboard (like me), Stevens Pass is less than an hour away.
Meeting families on their getaways is a wonderful way to create special memories with your photographer. There are all sorts of vacation rentals, and this one on Airbnb was a fantastic find. I can't wait to take my family to this cabin and explore some of my favorite spots in the North Cascades. Taking family photographs at your AirBnb rental is a great idea for family photos, and you can do it any time of year!
