Building Community and Support for New Parents: Our Doula Meet + Greet Event
We are excited to announce our upcoming Doula Meet & Greet event! If you're an expecting or new parent, this is the perfect opportunity to connect with local doulas and other perinatal professionals. Our event is free to attend and will feature a dozen birth and postpartum doulas who offer services such as birth, abortion, postpartum, lactation, sleep support, and more.
Doula Meet + Greet July 8th, 2023
The event is designed for families who are "doula curious" or who want to learn more about the multifaceted ways that doulas offer support during pregnancy, birth, postpartum, abortion, fertility, death, and more. We believe that every family deserves support during the perinatal period and beyond, and hiring a doula can provide numerous benefits for both the birthing person and their partner.
Having a doula present during birth can lead to a shorter labor, reduced need for pain medication, and a lower likelihood of medical interventions such as cesarean section. In the postpartum period, a doula can offer practical support such as breastfeeding assistance, newborn care education, and emotional support during the transition into parenthood. Doulas can also offer emotional support throughout the entire process, helping families feel more confident and empowered.
At our Doula Meet & Greet event, families can meet with doulas in person, ask questions, and connect with other new parents. Raising young kids can be lonely, and we want to bring the support to you. We will also have a family portrait station set up by Alec Mills Photography, so you can capture this special time with your loved ones. Previous clients are also welcome to attend to say "hi" to their doula and meet other parents.
This Doula Meet & Greet event is a free opportunity for expecting and new parents to connect with local doulas and other perinatal professionals. We believe that hiring a doula can provide numerous benefits, including emotional and physical support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. We hope to see you there!

“Alec Mills Photography will be set up at our event to take free sitting portraits for families who register and attend. Alec specializes in all forms of family photography with an emphasis on capturing connections and the little details that make up your lives. She believes that the most beautiful images are the ones with YOU in them, squished together and looking at each other.”

PORTRAIT SITTINGS ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED FOR FAMILIES WHO REGISTER AHEAD OF TIME WITH AN IN-PERSON WAIT LIST. EACH FAMILY WILL HAVE FIVE MINUTES WITH ALEC THEN GET TO CHOOSE THEIR TWO FAVORITE PICTURES AFTER RECEIVING A GALLERY INVITE THE NEXT WEEK. IF FAMILIES WANT, THEY ARE WELCOME TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL PICTURES FROM THE GALLERY.
