AUTHENTIC + PROFESSIONAL PORTRAITS

Recently, I had the pleasure of working with a client who needed some professional headshots for her new role as CFO in a startup company. Let me tell you, we lucked out with one of those unexpectedly sunny spring days in Seattle. I mean, who doesn't love a little surprise sunshine, right?

When I arrived at her place, I took a moment to explore and find the perfect spot to set up my portable studio. Let me tell you, finding the right location with great natural light is key to achieving consistent and beautiful results. And that's something your photographer will handle for you.

Luckily, her bedroom had this fantastic large East facing window that provided even and gorgeous light. It was a no-brainer to choose that spot. After a quick 10-minute setup, we were ready to start the photoshoot. These images showcase the diversity of indoor, outdoor, and environmental settings we can work with. Take a look and let the images speak for themselves.

Our main focus was capturing stunning timeless and classic headshots, but we also decided to venture outside to embrace the vibrant Seattle Spring foliage. To add a touch of reality, her daughter even joined in for some shots, showcasing the juggling act of working from home with young children. Life happens, and I believe in capturing those genuine moments.

Professional headshots are everywhere these days, and Seattle is no exception with its abundance of talented photographers. So, when it comes to choosing the right one for you, take your time and thoroughly browse their portfolios.

Let me share a few things about my style that might resonate with you:

  1. Natural light is my jam. I prefer working with the beauty of natural light rather than relying on artificial flashes. It means we need decent lighting conditions, so I'll guide you on the best appointment time and location.

  2. Minimal props, maximum focus on YOU. The last thing I want is for props to distract from your unique personality and professional image. However, if you happen to have an adorable office assistant (human or furry), they can definitely make a cameo appearance. Check out an example at the bottom of this blog.

  3. No studio? No problem. I don't rely on a traditional studio setup. I can come to your space or suggest an appropriate location that aligns with your vision. Even without a studio, we can create classic and timeless portraits with a backdrop of our choosing.

  4. Studio rental options. If you prefer the versatility and controlled environment of a studio, we can explore that option together. Seattle offers some fantastic studio rental services, such as Peerspace.com, where we can find the perfect setting for our project.

Ready to schedule your professional headshots? Reach out to me, Alec, and let's discuss how we can capture your authenticity and professionalism in a way that builds that "like, know, trust" factor. I can't wait to create some amazing images together.
