Golden Gardens Park in Seattle is the ultimate beach destination that offers breathtaking views of the Olympic Mountain range, sandy beaches, and a wide range of recreational activities for the whole family. Whether you're looking for a relaxing stroll along the shoreline or an adventurous playtime in the shallow waters, this park has it all. As a lifestyle family photographer, I love capturing precious moments of families enjoying the beauty and serenity of Low Tide at Golden Gardens Park. This is why it is one of the main locations I offer for my Low Tide Adventure Sessions each year!
TIMING AND ATMOSPHERE:
When it comes to photo sessions at Golden Gardens, I prefer to schedule them during the early hours, close to sunrise. This magical timing not only bathes our surroundings in a warm glow but also allows us to avoid the crowds that typically gather during sunset, or any days with good weather. Low Tide at Golden Gardens Park is particularly enchanting, as the sandbar emerges from the shallow waves, while shells and seaweed create intricate patterns in the low pools. The gentle lapping water provides the perfect setting for families of all ages to embrace the joys of nature.
Availability and Planning:
Family photos at Low Tide are available from April to September, and I release the dates to my dedicated Newsletter community in early Spring each year. So, make sure to join to stay updated! During our session, we will embark on an exciting Low Tide adventure at Golden Gardens Park. I meticulously coordinate with the tidal charts of the Pacific Northwest to select dates that align with the best morning light. Together, we'll explore the park and create lasting memories.
Exploring with Kids:
This particular family joined me on an overcast and windy morning, but the sun's warmth allowed us to go barefoot in the Pacific Northwest waters. With the spirit of adventure, we splashed, twirled, and ventured into the shallow water pools, guided by the boundless curiosity of their 3-year-old. It's truly incredible how toddlers can bring an extra layer of joy and excitement to beach sessions, constantly inspiring us to discover new wonders.

On your way to or from Golden Gardens Park, you can make the most of your visit by exploring some fantastic local businesses. Just a stone's throw away, you'll find the amazing Ballard Neighborhood! Full with small coffee shops, art + bookstores, restaurants and basically anything your heart desires… cute brick cobblestone main street? Check! And head north-ish to go through the Phinney + Greenwood Neighborhood. These local gems add a touch of local flavor to your day and are well worth a visit. Plus, you may have offered your kids a treat for after your session, and these neighborhoods are worth it to check out if you have the time.

In true Pacific Northwest fashion, the weather can be unpredictable, ranging from rain and wind to bright sunshine. But don't let that stop you from embracing a little adventure!
